Fairfield, N.J. – November 8, 2016 – KMM, a leader in logistics and network services to the U.S. communications industry, has appointed Chawn M. Tate as Vice President, Federal Sales. Chawn will lead the company’s growth strategy with regards to pursuing government opportunities, as well as new verticals outside of the telecom sector.
“In the last few years, KMM has significantly expanded its portfolio to include integrated solutions that support wireless and fiber deployment and decommissioning,” explained Nick Shanker, KMM President. “With the ongoing investment into the development of 5G wireless and IoT technologies, we recognize that there are tremendous opportunities to support infrastructure deployment outside of the private sector. We’ve asked Chawn to spearhead this initiative, because of his proven successes in creating strategic alliances that have led to new business development across multiple government agencies.”
A seasoned veteran with more than 20 years’ experience in business development and marketing, Chawn brings a breadth of experience to KMM. He most recently served as a Senior Business Development Executive with Commdex Consulting, where he helped secure several multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts with the DOD, DHS and FAA, along with spearheading the Mentor Protégé relationship with the largest defense contractor in the world and other government entities. Prior to this, Chawn supported MBI as Vice President, Marketing and Business Development. Under his guidance, MBI’s clients were awarded more than $238M in State and local government contracts, including work with the DOD, DOJ, DESC, OPM and DOC.
“I was drawn to this role because of KMM’s deep roots in telecom and impressive portfolio of services that continuously evolves to satisfy its long-standing customers and attract new business – these are the ingredients that make up a recipe for success in my opinion,” said Chawn. “I am looking forward to introducing KMM and its capabilities to the public sector and using my unique skill set to help capture additional opportunities.”
Chawn has also been charged with pursuing contracts outside of the telecom arena. In addition to its network service offerings, KMM provides inventory and warehouse management, forward and reverse logistics and in-market staging services that can be applied across all types of verticals, including healthcare, utilities and oil and gas.
